Rotary Club of Vadodara Heritage

Cloth Bags, Grammar Education, Diagnostic Camps, Clay Idols & Wheelchairs

A. Cloth Bags Distribution Eco & Women Empowerment

The ongoing Cloth Bag Project of RCV Heritage is gathering momentum and getting visibility. Slow and steady though the progress may be, the 3 R's: Reuse, Reduce & Recycle are surely rolling. What started as an attempt to enhance economic power of the underserved women population in the city is garnering support and appreciation from like-minded people. Earlier the cloth bags made from old bedsheets, pillow covers, sofa covers, and curtains were used only to buy vegetables and fruits. But now the mindset of people is also changing—the bags are used to give gifts and memorabilia.

This month 50 bags were disbursed very soon. Rtn. Bhavna Shah was forthcoming and placed the bags at her stall in an exhibition organised by Cool Moms of Vadodara at Vanijya Bhavan. The response was positive. This festive season, let’s all pledge to reuse bedsheets, curtains, and dupattas to make and distribute cloth bags!

D. Eco-Friendly Ganpati Making Workshop Environmental Awareness

Ganpati making project was organised at Arya Kanya Vidyalaya. It is an annual initiative of RCVH to encourage creativity amongst young girls as they make ecofriendly Ganpati idols from natural earth and decorate them on their own.

The best three Ganpati idols were given prizes by RCVH to motivate them in this endeavour. Rtn. Suchita Vaidya and Rtn. Madhulika Burman gave away the prizes along with teachers and the Principal of the school. On this occasion, the 30 young girls shared the popular traditions of Ganpati Puja. They were also educated about the origin of this festival as started by Lokmanya Tilak and how it was initially organised to uphold social harmony and friendship amongst people. The festival must be celebrated keeping its main purpose in mind instead of all the pomp, show, and environmental pollution it now causes.

Independence in Remote Village & School Bags with Water Filtration

A. Independence Day Celebration Rural Inclusion

To mark India's 80th Independence Day, this project brought the true spirit of freedom to an ultra-isolated, forgotten rural village that had experienced eighty years of total neglect. The core objective was to break their decades of isolation, hoist the national flag with local community members as the Chief Guest, and deliver a deeply moving, inspiring address. Speaking in the local native language during a dedicated seven-minute speech, we redefined "real independence" as freedom from neglect, poor health, and hardship, while introducing the service ethos of Rotary to the community.

“The message strongly emphasized vital values such as cleanliness, personal hygiene, unbreakable unity, and fighting poverty together through mutual support. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt, solemn commitment to stand by their side for sustained, long-term multi-disciplinary development, ensuring they are never forgotten again.”

B. School Bags Distribution Education & Pure Water

This project aimed to uplift vulnerable children in remote, underserved regions lacking basic infrastructure by providing essential educational tools and safe drinking water access.
