As we turn the page to a new Rotary year, we are presented with one of life's greatest gifts — a fresh beginning. Rotary Year 2026–27 is not merely the start of another calendar of meetings, projects, and events; it is an opportunity to renew our commitment to service, strengthen our relationships, and reimagine the impact we can create together.
Every new beginning carries with it a sense of hope, possibility, and purpose. For our District Governor, this year marks the privilege of leading a district filled with dedicated leaders, passionate clubs, and committed Rotarians. For our Presidents and Secretaries, it is a chance to inspire their members, translate vision into action, and leave a legacy that extends beyond their term.
For every Rotarian, Rotaract, Interactor, and family member across District 3060, it is an invitation to contribute in ways both big and small to a cause greater than ourselves.
"Guided by the RI President's message, Create Lasting Impact, we are called upon to look beyond activities and focus on outcomes. The true measure of our success will not be the number of projects we undertake, but the lives we touch."
New beginnings also invite reflection. They encourage us to build on the achievements of those who came before us while embracing innovation and fresh ideas. Rotary has always thrived because of its ability to adapt, evolve, and remain relevant to the changing needs of society.
District 3060 enters this Rotary year with immense potential. Our clubs have demonstrated remarkable resilience, creativity, and compassion. Whether through impactful service projects, youth leadership initiatives, Rotary Foundation programs, environmental action, or community engagement, every club has a unique role to play in shaping the district's collective success.
Sneh Sindhu — the Governor's Monthly Letter — will serve as a platform to celebrate these stories, share best practices, recognize achievements, and learn from one another. More importantly, it will remind us that Rotary's greatest strength lies not in individual accomplishments, but in our ability to work together as one district, united by a common purpose.
Team Believers is more than a team — it is a mindset. It is the belief that with a shared vision, collective effort, and unwavering determination, every challenge can be overcome and every goal achieved.
The year ahead offers endless possibilities. Let us embrace it with confidence, work together with purpose, and create an impact that endures. Together, as Team Believers, we will transform ideas into action and service into a lasting legacy.
"Here's to new beginnings, renewed energy, and a remarkable Rotary year ahead. Together, let us Create Lasting Impact."
The Rotary International Assembly 2026 brought together District Governors-elect and their partners from around the world for Rotary's premier leadership training event. Held in *Orlando, Florida, USA, from 11–15 January 2026, the Assembly prepared incoming Governors for the responsibilities and opportunities of leading their districts during the 2026–27 Rotary year.
Representing Rotary District 3060, District Governor Nilesh Rameshchandra Shah, accompanied by Shruti N. Shah, proudly participated in this prestigious international event. The Assembly also provided an excellent platform to exchange ideas, share best practices, and build lasting friendships with Rotary leaders from more than 500 districts worldwide.
The insights, inspiration, and global perspectives gained during the Assembly have laid a strong foundation for the successful implementation of District 3060's goals for the 2026–27 Rotary year. With renewed enthusiasm and a shared vision, the district is committed to strengthening clubs, expanding service opportunities, supporting The Rotary Foundation, and creating a lasting positive impact in the communities it serves.
Following the Rotary International Assembly in Orlando, USA, I had the privilege of participating in the 50th District Governor-Elect (DGE) HomeStay Program, hosted by the Rotary Club of Sarasota Bay and Rotary District 6960, Florida. For nearly five decades, this unique initiative has brought together District Governors-Elect from around the world, promoting peace, cultural exchange, and lifelong Rotary friendships through the warmth of home hospitality.
Along with my spouse, Shruti, we were warmly welcomed by our gracious host family, Mark and Linda Midyett of the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch. Their exceptional hospitality made us feel like members of their family rather than guests, perfectly reflecting the true spirit of Rotary fellowship.
One of the greatest takeaways from the HomeStay experience was witnessing Rotary's universal language of friendship and service. Living with a Rotarian family offered a genuine insight into American culture while also providing an opportunity to proudly share India's traditions, values, and the impactful work being carried out in Rotary District 3060. The exchange of ideas with fellow District Governors-Elect from across the world reaffirmed that while our cultures may differ, our commitment to Service Above Self unites us all.
As I prepare to serve as your District Governor, I return enriched with new ideas, renewed inspiration, and friendships that span continents. The HomeStay Program reaffirmed that Rotary's greatest strength lies in its people and in the relationships we build through service, trust, and goodwill.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Sarasota Bay, District 6960, the HomeStay Committee, our wonderful host family, and every volunteer who made this experience truly unforgettable. The memories created during this remarkable week will remain a treasured part of our Rotary journey for years to come.
